Areas of Study
Explore the theory and practical applications of physics
The department offers a B.S. and B.A. in physics, as well as minors in both physics and astronomy, providing students with access to state-of-the-art teaching and laboratory facilities and giving them opportunities to work on meaningful research on the cutting edge of science. Students can learn nanofabrication and molecular biophysics experimental techniques, utilize sophisticated computational physics models, or examine phenomena such as supernovas and near Earth solar physics as they work on undergraduate research projects alongside our expert faculty.
Physics
Physics majors study the science of matter, energy, and the interactions of forces that affect them.
Physics (B.S.) Applied Physics (B.S.) Physics (B.A.) Physics (Minor)
Astronomy
Astronomy study ranges from familiarization with the night sky to profound observational and theoretical understandings of the origin and development of our universe.
